Hi, I’m originally from Adelaide, South Australia where I completed a Diploma in Physiotherapy in far off 1977. My life path led me to Italy, where I have lived for many years now. I completed my degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Verona in 2012 and I currently live and work near Padova, Italy.
In 1999, I began studying the Fascial Manipulation®- Stecco method® with its founder Luigi Stecco, and in 2002 I became a part of the authorized teaching group for this method. Teaching this method has literally taken me around the world, which is fortunate because I do love to travel.
In 2003, I dared to translate the text “Fascial Manipulation for Musculoskeletal Pain” by Luigi Stecco from Italian to English. I say dared because I had very little experience translating text books and it was a steep learning curve. I have just completed my eleventh translation of different books by Stecco, so I guess I am now part physio, part translator and part teacher.
In 2018, I edited and compiled “Fascial Manipulation® Stecco® method: The Practitioner’s perspective” (Ed. Handspring publishers), a book that presents case studies by 15 practitioners from 8 different countries, all of whom had inspired me during my fascial journey and had kept me moving forward.
Fascia is a fascinating tissue, most of all because it was basically ignored for such a long time. Over the last 25 years we have learnt so much more about its anatomy, physiology and histology. I have been privileged to have been a part of this fascia revolution, working closely with Prof. Carla and Dr. Antonio Stecco over the years, as well as many other ground breaking researchers and clinicians.
