Course Description

Curious about how Pilates really works?
 In this 50-minute lunchtime session, Principal Trainer Julia Frankish (Evolved Pilates, PAA) introduces the fundamental principles that make Pilates such a powerful tool for movement, rehabilitation, and performance.

Designed specifically for Myotherapists, this talk goes beyond the “exercises” to explore the six key principles of Pilates — concentration, control, centering, breath, precision, and flow — and shows how these concepts connect directly to your clinical work.

Julia Frankish


Julia Frankish is the Director of Evolved Pilates, which she founded in 2014 after more than a decade of teaching and collaborating with physiotherapists and allied health professionals. Introduced to Pilates through her dance training, she gained certification in 2005 and now holds a Principal Trainer qualification with the Pilates Association Australia (PAA).

Julia is passionate about educating new and experienced Pilates teachers, with recent presentations for PAA, APMA, National Pilates Training, and Southern Federation of Dance. She works with a wide range of clients and has a special interest in hip and pelvis mechanics, low back pain, and dance conditioning. Her philosophy is that Pilates is for everybody—helping with injury repair, prevention, and overall strength.

When not in the studio, Julia enjoys family life with her partner and two children, cycling along Merri Creek, and baking creative cakes and desserts.
